Renting Textbooks

Renting textbooks at USC is growing on campus. Many students are finding it cheaper to rent a textbook instead of buying the textbook at full price. I rented one textbook last semester and saved about $100. Renting textbooks was new to USC last semester. In Fall 2010 there are going to be even more rental textbooks available. I think students will find this an alternative to high textbook prices. You have to rent the textbook with your debit or credit card in case you loose the textbook they can charge your card the full price. This is the only downfall because you have to make sure you keep the book in good condition and don't loose it. I will definitely see if I can rent more books this semester so that I can save some money on my textbook costs each semester.

  1. Just the fact of renting a book is a great idea because you don't have to carry around all of those heavy books. I have rented books and believe me it does save alot of money and is very user friendly. Back in 444 I rented the book for that class and I am glad that I did because it was easy to navigate and very inexpensive. Renting will become very popular I think within the next year or so.
